Leading Edge Parenting About Sandi Schwartz

Sandi develops programs for teachers, directors and parents that offer the most effective approaches for understanding and working with children. She has created and presented parenting workshops for school systems, organizations, colleges and businesses. Working together with the Human Resource departments of several Fortune 500 corporations, Sandi launched Work/Family Life seminars which provided parenting guidance to employees of companies including Citigroup, Salomon Smith Barney, Deutsche Bank, Avon and the NBA. This Art of Parenting program launched the creation of Leading Edge Parenting.

She has written and co authored books, educational articles, and writes a parenting column for the San Diego News Network's SWRNN. Sandi has presented at the annual conventions of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and is a highly sought after keynote speaker.

Sandi continues to create and teach seminars for educators and parents from her base in Southern California where she lives with her husband Steve, and their adorable puppy, Budha. Their adult children have flourished. Son Matt is a Harvard Law School graduate and is a corporate attorney in San Diego and daughter, Melissa, is a University of Massachusetts graduate and a prominent event and travel photographer.

Sandi currently serves as consultant to the Child Development and Education Department at Mt. San Jacinto College where she is a member of the California Mentor Selection Committee.

Sandi Schwartz is a nationally respected educator, author, radio show host, parenting expert and motivational speaker with over 35 years of experience in the field of child development. She holds a Masters Degree from Columbia University and is the recipient of many distinguished honors and awards.

In 2002, Sandi was honored by The New York State Child Care Coordinating Council, where she received an Excellence in Leadership Award as well as a Certificate of Merit from the Governor of New York State for leadership, courage and unparalled commitment to her work with children and families in the aftermath of 9/11. She received The National Excellence in Teaching Award from ChildrenFirst, a leading company in corporate sponsored childcare, and in 2005 Sandi accepted The Soaring Eagle in Leadership Award from Mt. San Jacinto College.
