Sandi and Melissa Schwartz are a mother-daughter team, supporting educators and parents in understanding the inner world of children and what it is that they need from adults in order to thrive. Internationally acclaimed authors, coaches and public speakers, they bring new perspective based on current research and personal experience to transform the field of child development.

They co-founded Leading Edge Parenting in 2007, co-authored “Authentic Parenting Power” in 2013 and each have their own thriving coaching practices supporting parents and children around the world.

Sandi Schwartz is an award winning, internationally acclaimed expert in child development and a leader in transforming the way parents and educators respond to the needs of children. She received her Masters Degree from Columbia University and leverages over forty years as educator, college professor, executive director, radio show host and keynote speaker. Her style is direct and uncompromising, yet filled with humor, sensitivity and compassion for the daunting struggles faced by modern moms, dads and professionals. She gently uncovers the illusions behind all parental worrying and offers the clarity that turns challenges into optimal growth potential. She supports adults in making the inner shift needed to change perspective and find success in meeting the challenges of helping children thrive in today’s demanding world.

Sandi has received accolades for her work with children and families from Wall Street executives, educational institutions and the Governor of New York State. She is the author of “Authentic Parenting Power” and is also a featured expert in “The Secrets of Connected Families” where she is joined by Tony Robbins, Byron Katie, Alfie Kohn and Dr. Brene Brown among other distinguished leaders in their field. Sandi helps parents and educators around the world with her concierge coaching program, webinars and live presentations.

Melissa Schwartz

Melissa Schwartz was born an intense, sensitive, empathic, power seeker. Her intuitive ability to decode misbehavior and her passion for giving a voice to the legitimate needs of children naturally evolved into becoming the co-creator of Leading Edge Parenting. Melissa has worked with children for over fifteen years and began using Sandi as her personal coach while nannying in college. Years of practical experience taught Melissa how to encourage cooperative and kind behavior with love and wisdom. 

Melissa has the unique ability to articulate the inner world of high-spirited youngsters and gives parents step-by-step strategies to eliminate power struggles and inspire kindness, cooperation and responsibility. She is a respected expert in the field of Highly Sensitive Children and brings clarity, personal experience and compassion for parents raising HSCs so they can thrive in a de-sensitized world. Melissa is a Stanford University alumna and a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
